Hi Kiwisteve
Congratulations on place! Such a difficult thing to be placed in this genre! There are some fine poets on FS, and it's good to see you up there. Great photo, with compelling words to draw and inspire those from the dark to the light. I have always enjoyed reading this form. Marion.

Beautiful image.
Let's just say that this reminded me a of a first love that never had closure.
I dream about him every now and them even though I am very happily married.
Luckily, my husband came along.

This hit home, my mind has been going lately with things it shouldn't be even thinking about. Sometimes it not good to think about things.

Thanks, BJ
It's better than the alternative - if you're not thinking about things, you're dead!

This is a wonderful poem, Steve. I like the romantic tone with the strong feel of longing throughout. Perfect triolet form with great rhymes and repeated lines. Very well done, I wish you the best of luck in the contest!

To kivisteveh,
Putting in motion the dark secrets of the night by reaching out to bring a sense of peace and well-being into a person that has low self-esteem of himself.

I always appreciate poems and gestures of love. I can't help but feel, that one of the great gifts of our lives is being in love and feeling that someone cares about us. If there is something better, God is keeping it for himself. Enjoyed your poem. I wish you well.

So many advantages of firelight--enriching our lives with so much more than illumination;
A well-penned triolet reminding one of the various fine reasons we should all enjoy its radiant beauty.
Excellent!

I loved the last line of it because it ends it perfectly. It's short but long enough to say what you wanted to say. I want this also. Maybe we can both have this

This is beautifully done, and best of luck in the triolet poetry contest. Your repeating lines work well. You make interesting changes in punctuation to add different interpretations to each. The use of flame is great because it is used in the context of warming as well as bringing the light of love to dispel darkness. judi

I enjoyed your write to the distracting and comforting power of romance.
The repeating form of the triolet is the perfect form for this poem.
There is an obsessive quality about needing love to assuage life's wounds that works perfectly in this format.
