Very good story. It reminds me of a story I posted in the way it is presented. The one sided conversation is sometimes hard for people to get, but you pulled it off very well. I was able to understand the whole story. Good job.

You've done an excellent job with this one sided telephone conversation at a suicide hotline.
The following two phrases sound more like preaching from a pulpit than talking to a specific person. You might want to adopt more conversational speech.
For if you keep thinking those unfair thoughts
for you will have known how it feels
You've told a very effective story. :) nancy

Hi Nancy. You are so correct and we are very careful about that. This particular woman needed an extra kind of incentive. Again, you are absolutely correct and I thank you so very much for reading this. Take care.

You do an excellent job of making this sound authentic as the suicide prevention worker encourages this desperate woman and lets her know she is being heard and her pain is being acknowledged. I like how she goes over the events so that the reader understands what is going on. I also like how she points out why a decision to end her life would not be a good one for herself or her children. Well it looks as if they will get him in and it didn't even take very much to do it. LOL. Poor Bry, he just never seems to learn.

So, you were on the other end of the suicide hot-line. Most people who call want help. Those who are impulsive just go it! They are not looking for an answer just want a quick exit. Took some thought to organize this script. Based on reality, I suppose. More power to you but it sounds like a job that sticks to you. Some you may save and some you don't. Great job! wackydo

Hello there....Yes this is a combination of two calls here. And each call is handled differently. You are correct. I do my best...because that's all we are called to do.
Thank you so much...your comments helped.

I think a person would have to be exceptionally strong to do this work and not become a stressed out wreck. Thank God for you and others who are able to do this and man these phones.
I found no SPAGs in your story.

This moved me with its calm manner and high regard for the person on the other line. It wasn't until I read your author's note that I realized this based on a true situation. I applaud you and all the other great soul who have the courage and big heart to save people on the edge.

I love how you've done this as the one side of the conversation, and the wisdom offered in it. Reading this is intense, as you keep us wondering how it will end. Well written!
