A perfect poem to enjoy on a beautiful spring day. The bees have ventured out, and are collecting pollen as fast as they can. A happy, lazy day, just as in your lovely poem. :) Nancy

It nice that Sawyer loves bumble bees as long as he doesn't get too close to them. I enjoyed your poem, Brooke. This makes me yearn for Spring and Summer like weather again. Well done.

Beautiful and simple quatrains. Makes me also wish I were a bumblebee (as often I have, actually). Their warmth and vibrance and fuzziness are irresistible, and their connection with flowers and new life. Beautiful poem!

Love the whimsy phrase, ' perfumed pools of sugar', Brooke. I just read on, and the rest of the stanza is terrific too.
It's all a very sweet (excuse the pun) read - uplifting and fun.
Best wishes, Ted

"The bees! I never dreamed it would be the beees!"-Richard Widmark in Irwin Allen's disaster stinker,"The Swarm"
B, this bee the best bee poem I've beeheld today. It's definitely not the Bee team. Badump!
Nice rhymes and flawless meter, natch. This had a lighthearted, nursery rhyme innocence to it, plus a timely message. Bees are dying out and we don't have a clue why.
This is a threat to life itself, since we count on the bees to perform such a vital function in the ecosystem, viz, pollinating all the fauna and such. I mean, where would we bee without the bees? We'd bee history. Stop me, beefore I pun again. Oh, the humanity!
If you want to read something pretty hot, check out my review of Righteous Riter's poem, "To God Bee The Glory" (ha!). But you better hurry beefore they take it down....TKF

TK, have you been mean to writers again? You are incorrigible, you know. Thank you for the laughs and the review :-) Now I'm off to read your nastiness. Brooke

Guilty as charged. The truth is sometimes not a pretty thing.

I love this:
exploring fields of clover,
awash in waves of succulence
by time the day is over.
I like the ending which is a great punchline:
But since I'm not a bumble bee,
I'll gather in the sweetness
wherever seeds of joy are sown
in fields of life's completeness.

Hello Brooke. c", I've changed my profile name from bulletski to daeneam. I hope you won't be confused.
I love the rhymes of your poem and I love the last stanza:
But since I'm not a bumble bee,
I'll gather in the sweetness
wherever seeds of joy are sown
in fields of life's completeness.
I take it as an advice to live life to the fullest. I hope I'll be infected with the way you treat life! God bless us! c", Mae

A whimsical poem with a clever beat. I like the line, drops of fragrant gold, creating a wonderful vision of sweet nectar. Bravo Judester

What a sweet poem. ;D I loved the ending most of all.
"I'll gather in the sweetness

How true this is. We only need to look to find the joy in life.

Great poem! The middle stanza was my favorite, perfumed pools and fragrant gold, painted a perfect picture, and now I really want some honey!
The ending was good to though...I really liked it's rhythm.
