I really laughed at this one . My little grandson who is three just loves this story and re tells it with me assigned the big bad wolf role and him as the piggies. Very good acrostic. might try it with other fairy tales.

    Thanks, Mary.

I do already have a bunch of these posted - I will gather them together into a 'book' one day. From memory there's The Boy Who Cried Wolf, Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood and The Princess and the Pea - the titles have to be long enough to make a decent acrostic - wouldn't dare taking on Rapunzel for instance.

Steve, first let me congratulate you on it being the contest winner of fun with acrostics. Truly after reading this I see no indifference for why you shouldn't have one. Truly this was very clever, inventive and creative which also shows your ingenuity illuminativeness and enthusiastic approach to writing this. Thank you so much for sharing imposing and may you always find love.

Congratulations Steve on your success here. I believe you borrowed the story, but you've made it poetic and hilarious. There's ome classic lines here eg
these two
Expected that such dumps would do.....got their comuppance for violating building codes

Gobbled rump and ribs and roast: in the original, the meat eating wasn't celebrated with this much gusto.

Another fantastic piece, Steve! Love how you used the fairy tale and created one of your own, all while sticking with the original story. Brilliant!

It's easy to see why this poem won the contest, Steve. It was fun and brilliantly done. And such an new and innovative look at such an OLD nursery rhyme. (Why folks told little children these types of stories is amazing)
Loved this one.
Rose.

Simple answer was to scare the wits out of them. People still tell their kids that the boogy man will get them if they misbehave...

"Though none it seems was architected". LOL LOL I want to claim that line for my own Steve. Lend it to me, please. I too thought that pigs were smart enough to know that "dumps would" NEVER do but I remember many decades ago that only one little pig had studied architectural design and structure and from what darn materials should one build a solid house.

Funny beginning, funny middle, funny ending - VERY funny ending, delightful and more than clever enough to make me entirely forget the piece was an acrostic at all and of course you won the contest. At last, fairness and justice have been visited upon a contest entrant. lol You are so clever, so good so............all of that stuff and the least I can do is give you a six so here it is and it's not made out of bricks, it's made of stars. Brilliant Steve. I am a great admirer or yours in case you had forgotten. lol xx Carol

Crazy lot aren't we - I reckon that one invented word 'architected' probably won me the contest!

Thanks for the great review and the big-head-making words of praise. I'm currently investigating how to get some of my stuff published in a real book, so later this year I will either have an even bigger head or will be cut right down to size.

Did I mess up and forget that you had already won this contest? Of course I did. I love 'creating' words and you could be right about 'architected' but the rest of your entry was just as creative. xx Carol

Not quite sure this shouldn't be doing double-duty in the fable contest as well, Steve. Wonderfully implied morals concerning greed and haste. :D Nancy

Which is what the original story was designed to do before it got re-written by the PC Brigade!

Of course, since it was written in haste and past my bedtime to meet the deadline it's maybe not the best example!

Thanks for the kind words and the sixer.

I think it's adorable and should be an addendum to every copy of the original story.
