I really enjoyed this piece! In fact, as I read each line, I began to wish that I had come up with it! You did a really fantastic job, and I hope to read more of your works in the near future.

You must have been in my Portfolio. I was surprised to see a review for this one. Thank you for your comments, but most of all for the interest in my work. Have a wonderful day, my friend. Nancy:)

Yes, I was in your portfolio; I wanted to review something that not a whole lot of other people would see, so it would get at least a review from me. Goosey:)

What a lovely story based on a myth - you have told it very well in your own words. Six stanzas in abab rhyme with a final rhyming couplet. You also found the perfect picture to accompany. Regards Dorothy

Hi Nancy,
This was a splendid story. The solid meter helped to embellish the theme of this meeting gone awry. Leave it up to a dad to spoil a romantic meeting, although, since I have a daughter, I might be in high sympathies with 'ol dad, lol. Still, true love always finds a way, otherwise, our population would be much more sparse! I loved your premise in this sweet story told beneath the kissing tree. Well done...By the way, I think the hard drive in my computer is about to go down. If it does, it might be weeks to months before I can replace it. If I'm off the air waves for a while, you'll know why. Technology...bah humbug! Best wishes, Bill
P.S. I still get mail at Box 102 Downieville, Cal, 95936...just in case...b

Oh I hope that isn't the case. Sometimes a computer can fix itself. I would seek help before it happens. So glad you like my poem. I hope you are feeling well now. Have a wonderful day. Nancy

Good use of the abab rhyme scheme topped off by a couplet. Good end rhyming. Good perfect rhyming with dark/mark. Good description and alliteration. Good complimentary photo followed by a clear message.

I really thought you were taking an actual myth and turning it into a poem. I liked the classic speech and the time of the moment. Nice imagery and the projection of emotion was wonderful. Great job on this. Gretchen

Nancy, this is such an interesting love story that ends well. The journey of love is frequently met with obstacles that will certainly test its fortitude. Well done in a creative way. :0 GracieAnn
