Seriously, that's the key. Truly successful women are those who see beyond the fairy tale. Real life happens when you are back in the ashes, being yourself. After midnight. That's when life becomes worth living.".. wow! Love these royal musings!

What a fabulous concluding para - you have a dry, pithy sense of humour, dear vkm!

Loved this piece!

Suggest: leave a line space and start a new para for this line ...The princess sat back in her chair and smiled wanly. This was our first meeting, and she said she wanted to "set the record straight, because too many little girls think my life is perfect and

You, my friend, are just awesome. How amazing that you read this piece for only two pennies and provided a thoughtful and detailed review. I'm so thrilled that you like it! And yes, you are absolutely right! I made the change to that paragraph (split it), and it looks much better. It adds real definition to the beginning and gives Cinderella a pensive pause.
Great reviewing work. Your kindness and generosity are overwhelming.
    Thanks again.

Vista Kay,

You have outdone yourself with this fabulous write, girl!

Loved how Cinderella was telling it all in a manner reminiscent of being interviewed by a reporter for some gossip magazine.

Witty, humorous, and waaaay outside of the box. Your modern take on Cinderella is so creative and fun. Your ending message to women out there is 'priceless' and 'wise'!

Outstanding!!! ... truly! I loved it ... all of it, VK!

You had my attention right from the get go, and had me in 'awe' until the very end, thinking how ingenious you were to come up with something like this.

A perfect title to befit what happened "after midnight".

Loved how the princess ended up with Bruno and not Prince Charming, and that he loved her, rags and all, for who she truly was!

Fantastic write, my friend!

Hey there, Connie! I thought of you earlier and sent and email. And here you are! Aren't you kind to read this for just a couple of pennies! And thanks so kindly for the awesome and precious six, dear friend.
lol I'm so glad that you liked it. Yep, I'm nuts. Really, hasn't this story just aggravated the piss outta you all your life? ;) How could he forget her? Why would she be okay with it? Yes, I learned in lit class that it's all about the uterus, that's what the shoe represents, but give me a break. Don't be so damn dark about it! Can't a chick catch a break. Those were some truly cruel shoes. lol
Your review is the most wonderful I've ever received! omg Talk about outstanding! I'm so thrilled that you loved the story. I had to exact some revenge on Disney for all of us. ;) I felt better after I was done; I hope you felt better after you read it.
And I did want the message to be more positive. The guys who loves us when we are covered with baby vomit--or our own--are the princes, after all. Right? God bless those men, one and all.
YOU are an amazing friend, writer, and reviewer. You never fail to make me day, week, month, and now year, with your encouragement.
I can't tell you what finding this means to me, Connie! You're just magical.
    xoxo

A very well written piece of work. The characterization and story were both nicely adopted. The over all descriptive things add much to the story. well written

Hello. This is fun...hey do you like Star Trek..I guess so...any way Disney should read this, I truly think so.

As our interview concluded, Cinderella noted shrewdly, "It's never a good idea to put your faith in a sell-out of a Fairy Godmother who looks like an overweight chicken--unless you are a Kardashian. She seems to have done fine by them."

VK, oh my gosh, what a cute take on the Cinderella story. I love how this one turned out. I really like the moral of the story that comes out in your last paragraphs. Great job and thanks for sharing this other, more truthful, fairy tale with us. Good luck in the contest.

    Hello there, kiwijenny.
I'm happy to know that you liked the revisionist Cinderella so much. Wow! Thanks for your kind comments and those stars. Yes, the guys who like us in our rags are the "keepers," and we must be happy with ourselves first. So happy that you agree!
Thanks again for reading and being so kind.

What a terrific sense of humor you have! I thoroughly enjoyed this 'interview' with your witty take on the old children's story. The ending earned you a sixer because you are making an important point, but in a fun and charming way. Hugs, Lou

    Hello Louise Michelle,
Wow! Thanks for that amazing six and this incredible review. I'm so glad that you liked the story and didn't think the moral was too heavy-handed. I did want to "fix" that story, as it's always bothered me. Your support is so encouraging.
I'm truly grateful! Thanks again. And I'm thrilled that you like the humor.

This was terrific, vkmack. I can't think of a story I've enjoyed more. It had the perfect narration and flow to it. Really imaginative as well. I wish I had a six for you, but I'm out. Nice job and you've got my vote.

vmack, this is a very funny story with an excellent message. I only have one nit:

"Our princess, dear fans, has a fairly wide catty streak. Things were beginning to get juicy with this interview." - you've shown us that, why tell us as well?

A joy to read with great characterizations and a fun twist on the better-known version. :) Nancy

I'll take your comment and see what I can do. Why state the obvious?
