I'm laughing just at the topic because Sawyer is absolutely in love with goats - he doesn't just pet them at petting zoos - he gives them full body hugs LOL
strong use of mono-rhyming, which is well suited for humor
nice touches of alliteration like hooky horns
and stalked and spined
great humor throughout
and strong action verb choices that contribute to the visuals, the humor and the life of the story line
You definitely made me laugh :-) Brooke

Thanks, Brooke.
No gut-busting laughs in this one and a couple of reviewers didn't find the humour....

I have another goat poem in my portfolio - it's called 'The Great Escaper Caper' - say no more!

Wonderful poem with great lilt and flow. I admire the way you rhymed each line. This is a unique topic as well. The way you ended "Am I unkind?" was funny. Good job.

First of all, let me say that I love goats. They are so adorably charming and also funny. I love your monorhyme because it is also adorably charming and funny.

Thank you BP - you didn't mention that they are cunning, determined, agile and born escape artists!

There is definitely something in here about goats. The monorhyme is true throughout and it paints a even picture of a goat critic. Funny.

Your picture chosen for your piece was perfect. I liked it your poem, but I didn't love it. Why? Though it was really cute (really), it didn't make me laugh or even smile, and that's the point here to this contest. I'm sorry, but felt I owed you the truth. What do you think? Am I unkind? I didn't mean to be.

I don't think 'you're being unkind' - so long as you don't tell the goats what you think of them. :-)
Top meter and fun rhymes/phrases for a very amusing read.
Good luck, Ted

I really liked the descriptors like hooky horns, twistily entwined, hedgehog rind. Your rhyme is delightful and the goats are an awkward bunch.
Nicely done.
