This poem is absolutely gorgeous the way you have eloquently written about many memories which seem significant to you.
As a mother myself I could identify with the heartfelt feeling of being blue.
I can really identify with what you are saying.
To be honest your writing was so beautiful evoking my own memories of my children that it brought a lump in my throat and my eyes watered releasing a tear or two.
Your composition is perfect just the way it is.

Awwww! Lovely piece. That last verse is a cracker. Great presentation of a child's imagination, hope and optimism, wrapped up in love.
Thanks, Brooke.

An excellent lesson on keeping a positive outlook on life presented as only a consummate poet can. I like that upbeat message that matches that upbeat 8/6 tempo.

I love the flow starting using the seasons and the objects of play is great. I would not have seen the ending without the hint from the title very good job showing the bond between child and parent. thank you

This is lovely, Brooke. Sorry, I'm all out of sixes. Like the way you find ways to substitute the beach for a sandbox, and make do by blowing more bubble in the sky, when others burst. But, alas, there is no antidote when he is separated from you.

The sandbox doesn't replace the seashore but it does provide a learning environment for things of different texture and problems to solve moving and building with other toys, You say this in such a lovely way with several other messages to boot.

Hi, Brooke. You certainly have a plethora of wealth in things you can write about with Sawyer, don't you, my friend. This is yet another fun poem and of course very well-written.
"There seems to be an antidote
for all that makes me blue,
but nothing is a substitute
when I'm apart from you."
Amen. great! Bob

Hello Brooke
The six is more for how it makes me feel about my grandchildren over the excellent poetic art that it is. Tonia is with the Reno grandchildren and I can't wait till I get there in March. Nicely thought out and rhymed

Oh, this is so sweet and touching. I feel the same way about my granddaughters. I miss them so when they are not around. This is just lovely. Once again you have mastered the art of poetry!

There was a song ... There's nothing like the real thing baby, nothing like the real thing...
Yet Sawyer is happy with what is in front of him at his disposal. When the sand and ocean view are not on the days plate ... Hellloooo sandbox.
Nicely composed brooke. John
