This is so clever, skillfully-written, and entertaining. It's a pleasing blend of fantasy and stark reality, since many will read this and remember a time they were "had" by someone!

    I'm sure we all know someone who could have been turned into a gnome for this poem. I'd never, never take them home. Still, I'm sure you're right, we've all been 'had' at at some time or other. Thanks for the stars and the wonderful review.

I think you right about gnomes or other like creatures which don't belong close to us. Yours is an excellent story in rhyme rhythm meter and its message. Good luck in the contest.

LOL- WHAT a cute story in a poem! Perfectly written and the presentation (in color and accompanying picture) is lovely as well. Your imagination is outstanding! You verbally paint an adorable picture for the reader. This little gnome, found accidentally by being stepped on (lol) lying to the intruder, eating his pie and now taking up residence in his home-forever. :)Just LOVED it- I believe children will enjoy it as well. Well done! Betty

very nicely considered, penned and
presented, Cindy, and a tickle, to boot.
as good as it flows, i think a tad
prune here and there could further
enhance the rhythm and would be well
worth the effort. thank you for sharing
and good luck! warmly, x, eph.

oh dear! poor Cindy! you're well and truly stuck with him now! But what a delightful write he's inspired and a really good, quirky story-in-a-poem with a fluid, unforced style. Well done! :)Sharyn

    Luclily, he's imaginary, tho I have met a few people who easily could have been turned into gnomes for this poem. Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for the wonderful review/

    Don't worry, the gnome is fictional. I don't have anyone who resembles him hanging around. It was just for fun. Thanks for the great review and the good wishes for the contest.

It's a fun story, told in flawless rhyme and meter. I'm sorry you got burdened by that gnome. My wife feels the same way about me.

Gnomes are imps, and imps can curse;
I wouldn't want to make things worse.
So should you chance to meet a gnome,
Never, never take him home!

Well I'll have to remember your lesson well should I ever meet a gnome. Heheh sounds like he is living the life of Riley.
