Ah, this poem adds a mystery again to the house of Poe. One can almost hear the Raven squawking a warning. Great artwork! I especially liked this line:
"Every house noise sparks imagination."

Well, I was honored when I was allowed to sit in a chair Poe used and had an experience. Funny how things go. I loved this review and thank you for it and sharing with me you favorite line. Mike

You are welcome and oh so right--"Funny how things go." I think I would have had a hard time getting back out of that chair. He is one of my favorite authors!! MN :)

I was a very old Windsor chair, and very close to the experience of the main character in, "The Patriot." The cracking and creaking had me wondering if I was going to be crashing to the floor.

What caught me off guard was a feeling of first pay back for photographing myself at Poe's grave with the theremin (profile picture) and then a interested satisfaction that I actually did that. I actually have a poem here, titled, "Would you dare, sit in my chair." and it also has pictures of the grave and house. To be honest, I haven't been the same since!

Wow! Poe was a master of dark mystery. Perhaps some of this is left in the objects that were around him. Wouldn't it have been fascinating to have met him? :)

Haunted objects are a very facinating subject, but I always stop short of believing in them. But in my opinion, it doesn't mean their can't be a spiritual attraction to them. I wonder if our life isn't something of an internet and when you think or consider something of a person, they can check you out if they are so interested.

I would think Poe would hold a facination to his grave just as many of us do. I couldn't resist dragging my theremin there for a photo op, and before me a group of people had the monument adorned with stuffed toy ravens.

I went to the Poe house seeking to sweet talk them into letting me sit at his desk, but there was no display like that there, only the portable desk he fancied. All ideas of me in a photograph went out of my mind. I talked to the person in charge and mentioned my poetry and that was when a light bulb went off in her head and she honored me with letting me sit in the chair.

However I got kicked out of another museum for writing a love poem, plus, "You are weird and scare everybody!" I scared them as I compared their museum to that of a Holy shrine for Elizabeth Ann Seton, as they were not only very similar in mission and layout, I had the exact same feelings about both the places. I made the mistake of telling what happened to me at the shrine because I pissed a complaining Saint off at her casket.

The funny thing is a psychic (definitely touched) felt I was right about my assessment and answered my questions I came up with, but hadn't yet asked. But another Facebook friend I found out had his daughter intern there, and when he visited felt exactly the same as I did. Funny his is a real paranormal investigator and also works with another museum.

Another FB friend is also an investigator and leads the whisper tours at the Rippavilla Plantation. She does get some pretty good electronic voice phenom. from there as well messed with.

Do got a good story about an object as I ordered the CD about the Doors, "When You're Strange." It arrived at the house suspiciously packaged, and when I opened it three dollars fell out and there were was also another CD. A letter explained this wan't the CD that was for sale but they had some hurricane Sandy damage, as it was shrinkwrapped, but they were hoping I keep it, so they gave me the three dollars to refund the shipping plus the free CD. I only joked that the CD must be haunted, but some real strange things did happen.

In fact, I was just getting ready to tell my Whisper tour guide on FB, when she wrote, "What the hell? Wait a minute!" The speaker to some of her ghost investigation equipment turned on. Couldn't out right debunk the why though. Made for an interesting conversation.

I do believe there are spirits, good and evil, that roam this earth and I don't care who knows it. I also know that it is possible to see into the future. I believe animals are more in tune to these things than modern man. Anyone who wrote as Poe did, thought about the same things. . . . It would be fascinating to hear his thoughts.

Just had to read this one, since I am always being compared to him. I don't know why though, I don't believe we look at all alike, except for the receding hairline.
Very nice acrostic,
Curt

LOL, I thank you for your review and compliments. Hey, I'd just go with it, I got out of a relationship as I angered her for going bald, so I took up poetry and found it every bit a relationship. Mike

I like the spirit of this piece, Mike. You can feel the reminiscient spectre of the man in the shadows, the inspiration of his work and life. Great job! Good luck in the contest.

Starting for the very first line it has a tone of nostalgic and forbidden at the same time. Oh to wonder on Poe's House and to look at the same things he did. Great writing.

That has actually happened to me, and it was a combination of getting my profile picture and being allowed to sit in his chair, I felt touched and was left with a much greater sense of him. I haven't looked at Baltimore's streets the same. Thank you very much for reviewing this, Mike

This was a wonderful poem about one of my favorite writers. You did a wonderful job with the format, and you even managed to add a rhyme scheme, which is no easy feat. Great job with this, my friend. :)

One of the best poets ever. Thank you for catching so much of his aura. Raven is my all-time favorite of his writings. Great art and color to complement your offering. I hope you will write more about the poet and his house. Best to you with this entry.

This one made my day, as you would be amazed how much time I had to spend on writing the haiku for the Jewish museum. In the end, I turned up my Cajun music! They all say the same thing and the last line is a give me, but to get it to look and sound right boggled my mind.

Wow! I enjoyed this review on my haiku and worded the way it is, gave me a great honor. I thank you for the review, compliments and genereious rating. Mike

A well written acrostic about a great mystery writer. Your poem flows well and uses rhyme effectively.
Poe was one of my favorites in high school with "The Tell-Tell Heart" ranking as number one on my list.

Great job on this! Picture adds good image. I have to admit I've not read a lot of his work but this poem makes me want to dive into some more of his writings. I enjoyed this tribute to him.

This is a wonderfully evocative piece of fan appreciation writing. You did a great job with parsing your words to bring on easy understanding and rock solid imagery. There isn't a single thing I'd be tempted to alter or change.

Excellent writing!

Wow! I read this review and wonder why I didn't win the FB, Poe House and Museum contest, but their pick was a better choice. I was left very happy that I captured about it, what got my heart. I enjoyed this review and thank you for it and the compliments. Mike
