Love the Black-eyed Susan at the end, excellent touch. There's some great description here and expression of the appreciation for the art of photography. For me, though after growing up the Star Trek I appreciated the 'Beam me Scotty' deal, it sort of took away from the piece. I almost stop reading because I thought it was going to transition into a silly fantasy piece. It's not though as it expresses something really important an appreciation for an art that can transport us to other spaces and places, allowing us a moment's reprieve from the world.

Thank you SMT for your review. I am glad my mention of Star Trek did not cause you to stop the read. It was my attempt for a little humor and yes...I grew up a Trekkie.

LOL So you get the opportunity to step into another world, and the best your imagination can come up with is part of the great outdoors? Hmm. Yes, you have been working too much at the office. The anticipation build-up was done nicely--but the great outdoors? Really? LOL
Well, it was interesting.

Thank you Edward for your review. I am glad it gave you a laugh. I nearly always strive for humor in my work...laughing is very healthy. Yes, I live a pretty confined life. LOL Cooped up in an office with no windows all day 5 days a week will make a person really long for the outdoors.

Yes we all need to escape to a place like that whether or not it is real or imagined.I enjoyed your descibing of what it was like and I also like the fact you added some humor to it as well. Good read and keep up the good work.

Thank you Misrael for your kind review of my work. I am glad you liked it. I nearly always would rather include a little humor than sadness in my work.

I love the idea. I just think it needs a bit of attention! For instance, "compelling" has 2 L's; there shouldn't be quote marks after "GLASSES"; the sentence beginning "The meadow so green..." is incomplete (there are other incomplete ones, but they seem more effective as is); "colorful" has one L; "mockingbird" is misspelled; and "oak" and "owl" as well as M'bird should be lower case. But other than the nitpicks, I really like the little reverie and the ending.

Thank you for reviewing my little story. I will make the corrections. I'm afraid I put it together very quickly and sometimes I type a lot faster than I read.

Very nice story line with your clever little twist at the end. I enjoyed your imagery. You painted the scene so well I could see it in my mind's eye, practically heard the buzzing bees. Thanks for your beautiful literary picture.

Wow! That sounds like the perfect place to escape to. Would love to see the picture you describe - however, the one you included here looks just as magical. Great write that describes the get-away in your mind. Humor and imagery - a very enjoyable read.
"What? you ask. "Have you lost your mind?" --> Add end quote after: What?
