This brings back memories. And you are clearly very knowledgeable about cricket. The ageing of the ball is an important element in tha game. As in life. Wonderful!

Oh I loved this one, I felt like an old worn out ball but after reading your great
humorous poem; i feel like a new person. You have used that great gift of putting humor and rhyme into a very comical poem.

Keep them laughing. ED

Lol takes me back to my young youthful days when we hung around on the streets and in crowds. Back then though I was never quite afraid of the gangs. I recall working in the nursing homes and some of the stories the elderly would share. I have to admit I was never as wild and not all teenagers are but just reflecting back on some of the things we get up to is good. I love memories. This poem flows well with rhythm and humor and I love the layout.

Why what a delightful review my friend. Thanks so much for the sixer and choice response. I thought the ball a little terse as some did but overall he got the vote.
    Many many thanks.
Much appreciated and have a lovely day.

But oh the joy the round little fella brought in his younger days. I am a bit like him -- at least in looks. And I do still have some kick.

hilarious! and the language is necessary and fits the poem. you have a great wit. the last stanza made me laugh out loud ( no, not lol as it drives me nuts when my kids talk to me in text slang). this is an ode to the cricket ball. you should consider entering it into the ode contest.

Do you know I NEARLY did but its too late now I'd have to repost, it ran through my mind but I thought perhaps the acrid talk wouldn't constitute an ode...perhaps more of a bitch rant! LOL
Perhaps we need a "Rant Contest"
Cheers and thanks a big bunch

Barring the colorful language, (Which seems to be your trademark) I would say this is one of your best. Nice rhyme and meter, very creative story. Not that familiar with the game of Cricket, though I'm sure it's fun. Hope all is well!

God Bless!

Douglas my man, thanks for the charming review...trademark...WTF? ...ah never mind. Haha...lots thought this was about baseball. All is well, just busy as always, too much poetic rhythm and not enough time to get it all down.
Cheers and thanks for the sixer my friend.
    Big hugs

LOL. The red weathered leather can swear. Very creative in showing experience as in I've been there, done that. The language and flow is magnificently smooth. This seems so real. Loved it! Les

thanks for the sterling encouragement to remain myself.
I picked up three new fans with this write...go figure.
I know some feel I swear too much and quite possibly unneccessarily but the warning was there.
They can read it...or shove it, to be honest.
    Aren't I a charmer? Yup.
Crude, but loveable I like to think...anyhoo thanks again...lub P xxx
