What a lovely story, which captures a moment in time to near perfection. Within the routines of life, the real meaning of life is captured. I enjoyed having my morning coffee with you both.

Come join us anytime Val. It's something different, yet, the same every morning. :o) Thanks for the stars and review.

This is a very sweet ramble. We have a lot in common. My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary in October. He always starts his day with a cup of coffee too :) He's wishing he was retired.
This is well written. It puts the reader right there. I could almost feel the flannel shirt, :) Anita

Thank you Anita for sharing with me about "our things in common." We probably do have a lot in common. :o) Yet, you might be surprised.LOL A have a pretty lurid past. LOL I love the feel of my husband's flannel shirts. It is so much a part of him. I'm glad you enjoyed my ramble.

You've got me a bit curious, but I won't ask about your past. There's much abut my life before I met Jesus that I don't tell. It's "under the blood" and I'm keeping it there.
:) bless you, Anita

Simply fantastic, a great story and yet this probably happened just a few days ago or today even. I read your december poem before i read this, so it was like a surreal moment when you said you read your husband your poem. because i just read it like 2 days ago. heartfelt story which had my attention from beginning to end.

Thank you for reviewing my piece. I am so glad you liked it. It really is what happened yesterday morning. Almost all our mornings are different but yet the same. :o) If you know what I mean?

Yes, author, I can feel that love, and in some ways,
I envy you that routine. It is good to know
who you belong with. Despite your troubles, you have
each other.
My only suggestion is that you goose the last line of the first paragraph. As it stands, it feels clinical.
How about something like, 'We're both reading the short end of the calendar.' --only a suggestion. You know what I mean.
Best of luck.
Peace, Lee

Thank you Lee for reviewing my work and your valued input. I did go back and change that line. Hopefully, it helped.
