Hello Jan...This is such a wonderful story. I am sorry I didn't get around to reading it till now, back problems and the like. What a special person you are for thinking of yor friend this way, especially in light of the situation. Most would not do what you did and perhaps eevn resentment. It is certaily refreshing to see such a kind hearted gesture, both toward your friend and Britany. God does hear and sends us messages and answers to our prayers in many ways...Again,a very heartfelt write.

Oh, Jewell, thank you so much. http://janilouscorner.blogspot.com/
That's it, I think. I don't post there often enough, and much of what I do post there is also here on FanStory. :-)
My friend is doing okay -- still fighting the cancer, and still hoping for a cure. Love you, too.

It was a very easy read. The ideas were well thought out and logically presented. And, yes, Disney World is expensive. We went several years back and stayed on the premises. There are many lakes throughout the complex. I inquired about fishing in them and found it was allowed but you had to rent the poles from Disney and I think you had to pay for the fish. It is a top amusement park but very pricey. Anyway, nice story.

What a beautiful story you get to tell. I'm so sorry about your friend--even more amazing she is your ex's wife! We just lost a dear friend of ours to cancer. He had battled for 2 years and had a clean scan just six months ago. He went to the doctor one day because he was just tired. The doctor told him the cancer was back and there was no hope of further treatment. Before we could even do anything, but see him, he was gone. I'm so happy, as I can see you are that you got to spend this precious time with her. I know you'll think about it often and your kids will benefit greatly from lessons learned from this bittersweet experience.

Great job!

In the first paragraph the tenses change midstream. You might want to keep them all in one for a more continuous flow.

Janilou, after my second battle in four years with prostate cancer. I began, while I had the time, energy and money, I began my bucket list. I went to Ireland for 18 days, took one trip to mainland China and then to San Francisco. I'm never to be cured. These memories are still very vivid.

This is an excellent feel good story. One that will last a lifetime in your memory bank. What you did for your friend brought tears to my eyes and tugged at my heartstrings. I want to thank you for what you did without blinking. Very well written and thank you for sharing this story,,,,,,Jim

That is so sad! I am glad the character in your story was able to forgive and not hold grudges. It is hard to do sometimes. I really enjoyed reading this. Thank you for posting this.

This is a really warming story, and encouragement to trust in the Lord. I love, not only the story, but the way you have written it: I felt present every moment. I too have experienced God's grace and seen His mercy. Well done for telling your story so honestly and powerfully.

The tantalizing realities of death once faced an ugly expression to those whom embraced a carefree, never settle for today lifestyle. Now, within the mass chaos of western explosion; idolizing false influences; encourages those of a by-curious nature to explore temptations beyond the laws of science and realism. Leading to an insightful little memoir, detailed to a happy ending of wanting and getting. Clearly highlighted within the subtle, gentle notes; flowing with ease upon the next paragraph. Gliding your tongue to a world, once plagued by harsh, crude landscaped swampland; now, an economic tourist giant, branded 'The families number one holiday hotspot.' Reviving a memory once forgotten within the eyes and hearts of those baring a childish character, to a happy place one wishes to be before, one dies. Heavily noting; the explosive culture of buck-listing! Implying a fragment thought throughout the world...! Should we all have a bucket-list? My answer is yes. If circumstances arrive, i firmly say yes. Though, tightening notions cripples the concept of a bucket-list. Can we do all that we want? No! So, a life worth living, is worth living for something you really want. Summarising, 'something to live for...'. And finally concluding this, offers one more note. Does this highlight the concepts of being spoilt? To truly understand this note; one has to read 'The Bucket-list,' to grasp the notion of 'Having something to life for.'
