Exciting read. I expect the book will stage plenty of such scenes around the bayou. By the way, it is "stanch" not "staunch" for bleeding wounds.

    Hi Lucille,

Well, I wish I'd known you a year ago, before I published this one. It was published under the title Loup Garou. Check out GandJPublishing.com and go to the book page and you'll see it. My name is Gayle Farmer.

    Nice to meet you!

A very well written story. Entertaining and easy to follow. Definitely made me want to continue reading. The only issue I had was determining the relationships of some of the people, such as Al and the character who said they were staying at the beach during the two weeks the restaurant would be closed. Other than that I found this to be an interesting story that will definitely draw the reader in. Great job!

My friend, you sure do know how to wind up a book.
Congratulations for being selected for the Book of
the Month contest. That, in itself, is an honor.
Do you know who won?

Hope you are well.

Aha, this has to be one of my fave 'last' chapters. I never got to use the sheriff the way I wanted. He was prominent in my mind but never got much paper time.

Thanks for the great rating. So glad you liked it!

This chapter got second and Avril's got first. Usually I lose to Margaret, but Avril's on fire. Never a problem being second to her!

    Hugs,
    Gayle

Doggone it - no pun intended
I hate it when FS won't allow us to give sixes as we
see fit when we still have some left - after all, they
are supposedly mine to give, right?
At any rate, I feel for Terry & Jim as every time I
read anything about something bad happening to a dog,
I begin missing my dear Mac all over again.

I know what you mean about the sixes, Jan. I bemoan how they're doled out, too, but this fiver looks pretty good to me.

Yeah, one thing that's a death knell in writing is to demise the animals. Nooooo, never good.

Thanks again for the great stars and comments!

Dag, Gayle:

You sure as heck know how to catch readers off guard.
Never did I expect Louis to kill herself - I figured
she would go into the voodoo room to place a spell on
everyone. Her poor daughters and husband. No matter the
reason, death by suicide is at the top of the hardest
for family and friends to recover from, I believe.

I am sorry I missed all these chapters. I will PM you
sometime soon with an explanation. I hate that FS removes
all our messages older than 3 days because not all of us
can be on here daily.

thanks for sharing
love,
jan

Well, it's been quite a while since I saw the 'reviews' notice in my inbox! Thank you so much for the sixer and for your great comments.

I really didn't want to kill Louise off but if I hadn't, then we'd have had all these unanswerable questions about being a werewolf and all.

And yes, suicide is very difficult to understand, and family and friends often deal with a lot of unnecessary guilt. I honestly feel that by the time a person gets to that point they aren't looking at things clearly. Now, in this case, Louise took what she thought of as the easy way out.

So good to see you again, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    Hugs,
    Gayle

A well written and enjoyable piece. Though I don't know where the werewolf comes into the story, I assume that is because I only read this chapter. The characters are well defined and the dialog sounds realistic and seems appropriate for the characters. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Scornwell, thank you so much. This is the last chapter of the book, so there's no doubt you're a bit confused.

Thank you so much for the fine wishes and review,

    Gayle

Tight writing, clean prose with just enouhg inofrmation to feel the urency and keep the pace as they check the ones going to the hospital. Solid epilogue too. Silver bullet for you as you strike passion in the heart of the reader. Good luck in contest. Stan

Pretty cool that you got the last chapter nominated. I had that happen that way twice. I think it confirms that you got the it factor going. So are you in your own publishing enterprise. Are you selling kindle, printed, tell me more about your world. We competed on book of the month club and you won and beat me out by a few votes. You know what they say, can't beat em join em'

    Hi Forest,

And which contest was that? Always like to see how the competition is doing!

Thanks. I will check it out. I wrote down the web address.

Way back more than a year ago. I had my story Miracle on Snowbird Lake, and my chapter went against yours and we fought for first place, but you prevailed. Tough going against Avril. In fact, I got second place to her more than once on book chapter of the month, and once I was leading her into the last day, and then she won by one vote.

Loved this chapter Gayle.
Your dialogue is spot on and masterfully done. Fantastic way to end this on Halloween. This looks like quite a story. Be very blessed

Ah, sweet Jenny, I'm so glad you liked this one. Actually, I like yours better. I just snuck out of the cave and look what I found. Good for me! And thank you, my dear friend. What a pretty bouquet, and I know you arranged it all yourself. Have a sniff!

Wonderful writing. First time I've read your stories, so I had to figure it out a bit, but it moved along so well I thoroughly enjoyed it.
