You had me laughing and yes, thinking maybe we all can admit we wouldn't mind a bit of a change over. My fear would be that there would be a mix-up and I'd have to live with it. So I'll stick with my varicose veins, poor teeth and a few too many pounds. Hey, I do have a giant slobbering dog I love. That counts doesn't it? LOL. Loved your essay.

Hi there! I never thought of a mix up! That would be MY luck. lol! Good point! I love this review...and I have a labrador, who I love too. I would not trade him I guess. But I am sick of the rest of this mess. Thanks again my friend! xoxo. Susan

Gee, I hope I can have just a little of it all in this life too, especially the peace part. Thanks for sharing this "rant". A most interesting read...

An interesting idea! And to think that so often I wished the opposite for myself. I would like to be intelligent and talented in one thing only, and give all my love and attention to this one thing. Multitalented people are less likely to succeed, as they have a hard time giving undivided attention to any one subject. As for beauty, someone said that beautiful girls are very unlucky, and it's true -they are noticed, and for that reason they are hurt and abused a lot more often because certain men are determined to have them at any cost. No, if I had a chance to another life, I wouldn't want to be different,I would like to be in a different world, where people are loved and honored regardless of appearance, status, talent, intelligence, etc.
I really enjoyed reading this. I understand very well your desires and I share many of them. Thank you for sharing yours.

Hi Lily! What great points you make. I'm just aggravated with myself, hence this rant. I so wish things to be better. Not just for me, but all of us. Especially nice people, who seem to get the shaft no matter what. I like your idea of a better world. Thank YOU, Lily. It's so good to hear from you. xoxo. Susan

Well, if you daydream, daydream BIG; nothing wrong in that I suppose. We all do it from time-to-time. I really love reading this and getting a kick out of reading what we would all want in some way or fashion. Enjoyed it.

I love this piece.. Especially the ending because I firmly believe this is as good as it gets. The challenge and messy part of life is what makes it interesting. Well written and thought provoking. All tied together by the close. Kathy.

Hi Susan :)

Interesting to say the least. You know, there are those who have most or all the things you ask for. You already have quite a few of them yourself.

One thing for sure, you are unique and there will never be another Susan Miller.

Good piece.

Ted

Another perfect write. Would you trade that talent for everything on this list? I know you included that too. The old saying goes: Beware of what you wish for... but you seen to have covered all aspects: I want to be the type that no one dare harass.
I dare say, if you have your health, you have everything, so just focus on that, my dear Susan. You are always on my mind and in my prayers.

Hi Shari! Wow! Thank you so much. I always love when you like my rants. And you're right...without good health, not much else matters. I am finding that out first hand. You keep care of yourself...hugs and a smile. Susan

Ah yes, Susan. Who would say no to any of those fantasy wishes? Not me, I'm sure. (Though actually I'll skip the calculus - I've done fine without it till now, so I'll opt for the more fun stuff.)
You include a poignant mix of fun things we could all wish for, alongside more personal wishes for personal peace, which makes those longings all the more powerful. I too have often wondered how much I shall be missed when I say goodbye. By my husband, if he survives me, but I don't think my departure will leave a great hole in the world.
I have no answer to your last question. But I fear yes, this is as good as it gets. I hope I am wrong and that we do indeed get another chance.
My best wishes to you for happiness and good health.

Hi Sally! I am just tired of being old. And as my mom used to say, "Well, what's the alternative?" Oh well. I guess I should just be glad I am still alive. But when misery rules, it's hard to appreciate ... I hope you are happy and well too Sally. Thank you again for this kind note. It's always great to hear from you. xoxo. Susan

Dear Realist,

If things were as perfect as you say than you would be a complete boor. No-one would want to interact with you since you would intimidate them even if you were kind. It is said be careful for what you wish because you just might receive it.

Well written and a fun read. Dream on since as Peggy Lee used to sing, "Is that all there is my frend, if so, let's keep on dancing."

Warm regards,

Winslow

Hi Winslow. Great points here. But still. I know I'm not alone, but we have to deal with the hand dealt us I guess. I do remember that song too. An oldie but goodie! Thank you Winslow. It's nice to hear from you. :) Susan

I agree. I would like all of the above attributes. And now is the time to get them, it may be my last chance.

Waiting for the next life doesn't make logical sense. Why wait for spring, do it now!
