Hi-
I always thought that birth came before
death, but what the hell do I know?
Even Christ had to be born, miraculous
or not, before he died.

Yes, we celebrate his birth at Christmas. If it was not clear to you, the poem states that death had to come before resurrection, not that death had to come before he was born as a baby. Thank you for reading. Brooke

A sorrowful poem and that is how it should be. We need to be reminded of His sacrifice - he died that we may have life and have it more abundantly. Happy Easter Grandma.

Haven't been able to write much (sciatica) worked out how to have a table the height of my wheelchair, that way I can sit on my pressure cushion. Lea sees the second specialist next week, takes two of them to operate. Hopefully, she will have a new knee by June. Two days time you will be able to write a glad poem for Easter Sunday. Much love and prayers, Kace.

I have not even begun an Easter poem. Of course, I woke up today without a Good Friday one. Sorry to hear your sciatica is bothering you so much. Send Lea my good wishes.

:-0 Tanka you, I don't usually complain, it has been hell.

There really is no need to be stoic all the damned time.

I never cry, I guess I should. Good at giving advice to others suffering, loathe to take my own. The arthritis leaves nothing alone except my head (and that's debatable) I want to paint a picture for you for your birthday - can't do it at present, running out of time. Grrr.
-
the last thing you need to do is consider a kindness for me as being up against a deadline :-)

How about a jumpsuit for Sawyer? Wouldn't be a birthday gift for you but I feel part of your family, does that seem presumptuous?

Very interesting words written and art work
He gave us all a special journey to follow him.
His special message was to love one another.
Jesus was God who came to save us from evil.

Wow... Very deep and powerful words here Brooke.
They certainly make me stop and think ...
Nice rhyme of breath and death, funny how they rhyme but can never go together.

Oh nice one. This one has some good stuff to it. I don't generally enjoy spiritual stuff, and I can tell it obvious in this one. But on that note, I see you are very familiar with poetic forms. Alas I am not, and I would not know how to properly judge this one based on that. But the flow is nice.

Thank you, TyrantsPen, for taking time to review something that is not really your cup of tea. Brooke :-)

Of course there is no better message in all the world Brooke. Also, thank you for educating your readership. I had never heard of Adelaide Crapsey or the Cinquain style of poetry she developed. Very well done and thanks again. --Jim--

Death is often the last act of living, until Calvary. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.
