Brooke,
Your Cinquain poem is superbly written with exquisite imagery. The art work is stunningly beautiful you used.
Excellent alliteration with the R, W & B words
Great use of metaphor: "hope revived by new breath and called to bear witness"
I enjoy all of your lines in your Cinquain poem. I love your swell spiritual message for Easter.
"Before
resurrection --
hope revived by new breath --
we're called to bear witness that first
came death."
I'd recommend your Cinquan that retails out Savior's resurrection
to other reviewers. Keep on writing with heart and a creative pen. Please have a blessed weekend & a splendiferous Saturday, my friend.
Melissa.

This is such a meaningful Cinquian. He had to die so we can have life and bear witness to the fact because of His resurrection we live. pnkglo

short but direct to the point, these days, people tend to overlook Good Friday and have the extra holiday on a Tuesday following Easter Monday

Thank you, the Stranger - yes, many people want all the happy, triumphant stuff without the harsher reality attached. Brooke

Amen to that Brooke. I always love your writing. There is a peaceful complicated simplicity about it that gets this reader every single time. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on my Good Friday offering entitled Mountainside Memory...It is a freestyle but with a difference that came to me ... anyway Happy Easter Brooke, may the peace and love of God be with you always. xoxo your friend Deborah

Surprisingly, I haven't read many seasonal/Good Friday poems on FanStory--thank you for yours in the form of a triolet--good choice. The power of your poem is intensified by your use of alliteration and the downward turn. Have a serene Easter weekend- Joan

Your ability to capture the spirit of Good Friday celebrations in this poem is simply sensational. I would have given you six stars, but FanStory says that I can't, apparently I've given you too many already. You stay true to your form and the artwork you have chosen enhances your poem beautifully. Exceptional work, Brooke.

Blessings,

~ J.

A unique way to express the idea of eternity. The first three lines offer hope, but the last two express the downer: death must come first. Good use of alliteraion with "b" sound.

I like that you chose a simple piece of art and color scheme so as to not draw any attention away from your powerful message. May your Easter be blessed and for those now celebrating Passover I wish them special blessings, too.

A good poem, respecting the structure and with a good message for this good friday, that for all of us catholics is an important time, to do this kind of reflection.
