Thanks so much, Deborah :-). I've been nominated a few times now, and I'm always surprised which of my poems gets picked! This is the first time I've place in PoM, so I'm really thrilled with it.

what a pleasure to read. your poem flows nicely into each stanza and your presentation is as beautiful as the poem itself. thank you for sharing and best wishes to you in the booth.

Nicely written. I prefer rhymed poetry; that's just me; however, this was good. The picture complimented the poem. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Jane :-). I do often write in rhymed forms, but blank verse felt appropriate for this piece. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Mike, oh Mike, this is so deserving of a six as is all your work imho.. or have I said that before. I can certainly see why it got nominated this month. What a strong strong contender. You have captured the perfect duality and or contrast of male and female, whether in the wild or is human relationships. Absolutely breathtaking is this work... best wishes to you my friend... jimi

Loved this. It put such a clear picture in my head. Not sure it was the picture you had, but the couple out clubbing were there in the jungle all night. Your phrases were sensory and visually evocative. Good job!

Fleedleflump, would give you the 6 if I had it now...Must be a real rough relationship...lol. But all so true in our romantic serenades...how Primitive and instinctual...(OK, I'm going Freud now). Loved the imagery and truthfulness and deep anguish...waht a wonderful read, thank-you turtledove :)

Finally, I'm getting to you, Mike. Sorry, I'm late with this review. This is alliterative, visual, smart and feral at times!! I loved the very first line most especially. I do have a few little distractions with this piece ... you started out with it as near rhyme blank verse, which I adore and you carried off beautifully but then, your final verse's last two lines and your finishing couplet are rhymers. hmmmm I think I'd keep the couplet rhyming for unexpected power but change out either "form" or "storm" from verse four. I REALIZE you've gone "exceptional" several times. I'm just pointing out what didn't quite work for me.

I just love this, Mike.
Great metaphor of tiger/women, wild/soft, at least I think this is where you were going?
Wonderful alliteration.
Many quote worthy lines, but I especially like,

until the balance saturates our world
and wolves lay down upon a bed of wool.

Is this referring to the balance between the sexes? I don't want to misconstrue your meaning, because I hate when people do that with my work.
A pleasure to read.
Well done.

Thanks so much, Maxine :-). Sometimes I barely know what I'm on about myself, and a little interpretation by the reader is welcome! In this case, though, I knew exaxtly what I was wrriting about, and so do you, so I must have pitched it about right :-). I'm so happy you liked it!

Good to have people around who understand us and don't feel the need to kill us. It's also nice to have someone back your play no matter how ridiculous.
