I absolutely love your mouse stories and especially this one about first time snowing. In my youth we were to poor for a sled so instead we used a aluminum trash lid. We made angels in the snow even when it lingered in the cold made an igloo and camped out in it all night. Your poems on the little creature you feature in prose ought to go viral. Vivid descriptive detail of setting and a fun reaction to the snow by the mice
I like the proximate rhyme of toast/coats

Aww, I like the idea of a snowmouse. :-) It's fun to see the reaction to snow from beings who have never seen it, to remind us we didn't always moan about what a hassle it could be!
This chapter is fun and I imagine kids will smile and laugh along with the mice as they play in it. :-)
(And I don't mind snow as long as it stays in The Hedgerow Capers. :-)

Everything, every verse flows easily and very well.
