Another fine tribute to nature and the simple things in life. I love to see the end of summer for one reason only. The harvest of fruit available for making jam and preserves. A veritable harvest given freely from the awesome seasons. Net:)

Hi Brooke! I will get some berries now from the store asap. I really am hungry now. Tonight it will have to be toast...lol. This meter works perfectly here too. As always, these are a joy to read Brooke. Great artwork too. This is a painting! I am pretty sure. AND I love the word, 'burble'!! :o) hug, Susan

I found a good sized berry of my own at work today; it was a rough night closing my store, and I was already in a dark mood, but I God reminded me of something and I allowed Him to brighten up my evening. I'm thankful He allows me to find joy and peace in the most volatile of situations.

Thanks for sharing,

- TR

This is an absolute, beautiful "praise" unto the Creator. Word placement was perfect and one can tell that this piece has been well honed and that is the reason for it's greatness!

adewpearl:

when I was a kid and used to chop peanuts during the
summer, there was a ditch bank which was fed by a pond
my father built that was fed by a lake -- anyway, on
that ditch bank grew the most wonderful honeysuckle and
wild blackberries -- your poem reminded me of that

thanks for sharing
love,
jan

Jan, thanks so much for sharing that with me. My memories of wild berries are of the ones that grew near the creek my friends and I played in :-) Brooke

Nature offers a variety of
delicious foods but I think plump
berries growing wild are one of the best.
Enjoyed your octets - the alliteration
the rhyme and delicious images
add up to a wonderful poem.

Hi-

Right... I'm sure God had berries in mind
rather than an apple to tempt Eve... he
just hadn't invented them yet... or, that's
my take on it.

Nice poem! ZW

Very well done. There is nothing like eating a plum tomato off the vine, or a blackberry, bursting with purple juice. Good job.
