adewpearl--This simple write put me through a range of
emotions: I laughed at this bit;
"...a prime al fresco meal
of nature's fine designing."
this bit made me sad;
"I thank the brook and sun,
I thank the gracious vine..."
(many people/natives in the past worshiped the most obvious elements for their goodfortune); The enjambment made me hap-
py;
"...and then I thank the Lord,
Who made Creation mine."
Scribe's 'Plus Sign' visit directly inspired an uplifting
write of faithfulness. teafor2

A great poem and you made me think of when I used to pick berries from the neighbors garden. Your artwork was perfect and they look so real and tasty, such vibrant colors. My craving is not satisfied after reading this, you have made me hungry! lol Alex :)

Sigh ... here we go again with your spring/summer teasers. I want a berry :( However, if I go to the store to get one, I'll end up paying an arm and a leg and they'll be tart! Lol.
Great job with this poem. I felt like I was at the brook, eating the berry. Then I woke up. It's raining outside and no berry in sight.

Yes, berries at the grocery store cost so much you have indigestion just thinking about paying for them. Thanks so much, Anisai :-) Brooke

this is simply superb, Brooke...
such joyful verses, which could
be put to music... and the picture
is so right.

Absolutely wonderful. And I can't wait for the berries to start their blooming. I always love to read your work. I loved the iambic meter you chose. Great flow.
Blessings, Angie

This was just an excellent written poetic verse. I just loved those last four lines in this poem. You really know how to put together great poetic thought. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this piece of poetic art... John

Very sweet dear Brooke. Such a lovely poem. It kind of sounded like a hymn to berries when I read it. I can understand why now. Beautiful imagery of summer long gone and the future one to arise. Beautiful feelings also supplied. Thank you for this beautiful poem.

It was a beautiful poem.

Wonderful work! The site won't let me give you another 6 or I would have. The imagery is excellent, I could almost taste the berries myself.
Great job, as usual--

Beautiful indeed. You see beauty and Lord's grace in small things, and beauty indeed lies in the eyes of the beholder. Extremely interesting poem, the reader feels like garbbing the berry in the picture.
