I was pointed to this work of yours, and was told it is outstanding. I agree totally. It is the sentiment of the poem that has touched me. It is a universal truth - people judge others based on exteriors, not knowing that behind the fancy get-up is a heart that has compassion, an inner man that desires to be assured, etc. This poem speaks for all of us who are unsure if we are good enough. Great job!

When that screen comes up, click on Course Details . When THAT screen comes, you will have a chance to peruse the syllabus, see who the instructor is, and purchase the course. This is reminiscent of that old adage 'Don't judge a book by its cover' ...and how true that is we can't honestly say we know something just by how it seems.

This personal revelation in free verse speaks volume about others' perception of individuals. There is the face we display to the world and the true one that lives within us and that only God knows. Nice expression of this theme in your free verse.

Wish I had the sixth star for you. This was a truly great piece of poetry. You were able to bring the vulnerability in a lot of us out in the open for analysis. You are right, we all "wear our protective clothing" to keep others from knowing who we truly are. I bet there would be much more chaos in the world if everyone were to shed that protective clothing they wear. Thanks for a really great and insightful look at what goes on behind the scenes.

I think the biggest fear I have in my life is rejection. I need to be accepted. I am nice to everyone but so fearfull I will do something wrong I miss most of what happens around me.
