Mermaids, I sincerely enjoyed reading your poem. It was notably descriptive, causing readers to clearly visualize the beautiful picture you paint in this poem. One thing that you could do to improve this poem and any other poetry you write is to include the five senses: What can you see? What can you hear? What can you feel? What can you taste? What can you smell? I absolutely loved the way you added a little twist at the end of your poem, when it is Halloween! You are a very talented writer--keep up the good work!

My mother lives in Hemet, CA and always remarks that dinosaurs used to roam freely around there. I'm sure she would love your poem too. :D
Only thing I noticed from a technical standpoint was you might consider the verb tenses in the 2nd stanza. It seems to go from present tense in the 1st stanza to past, and then back again. Not sure if you intended that or not.

This is an absolutely marvelous poem and imagine if you were on the back of one of these creatures what it would be like with everyone fleeing.

Your poem resonated for me since as a kid I always enjoyed going to the natural history museum because we would spend most of our time in the dinosaur exhibit. To this day, I am fascinated by them and I liked your connecting their roaming the earth with Halloween. I hope the "paleontologist" in you has a great celebration this season!
