I have no sixers, Sue, but just know that this is superb as far as I am concerned. So well written ... every word carefully chosen ... tremendous evoking of emotions ... Yes, this is exceptional and I'm sorry I have no sixers.

Susan, this is a well written, but sad story. Lovely descriptions, but I sense the fallen tree, greedily engulfed is how you are feeling. Try to ignore those who are harassing you, and think of us Fanstorians who care about you. I wish I could help, but remember you are in my thoughts and prayers. Do something nice for yourself today. You deserve it!!! Hugs! Debbie

You sure got this one Miss Debbie. "/ Thank you so much. I am going to the dentist and have found an antique truck that I am going to try to buy? I will post a pix of it if I do. I have wanted one of these for years! It's an old Ford F1...over sixty years old...I want to ride my dog Buddy around in it? Hopefully. I love you for your kindness Deb, and wish you could be here to talk to. xoxo, susan

Wonderful imagery with this one. The old laying down making room for the new. I enjoyed this very much. You have a gift for saying so much in so few words...something I doubt I will ever master.

Geez, Susan--you do such a terrific job sucking readers right into the stories you tell. Excellent details and scenery. You're right-awesome picture! Envying you the experience of seeing this played out before your very own eyes.
S.

PS: Your profile description needs updating, friend. You're not a shoe---you're an ass-kicking pair of shit-kickers! A name-taking warrior woman with a keen insight to human nature, and master of mighty pen!

Hi Sassie girl! Thank you for making me smile! When this happened I was down at the cabin that was where my mom grew up, we were along the river, and I don't remember, but might have been hunting mushrooms.? I don't know. I am too tired to be a warrior Sasil. But you are. Thank you again, your online friendship means a lot to me. Luv you. Susan

Have you read Rick Bass short stories? He writes about character where nature becomes another one in the conflict of life. This is another wonderful example of how you are able to draw from this writing well, and at time so deep we will get lost in your words. Stan

Stan, I will have to find this author and see? This review is special to me, you are so encouraging. And that is so helpful. It keeps my chin above 'water'. Thank you. Susan

This is a first, I never have heard of a 'tulip tree'. I only heard of tulip bulbs, that make plants. Interesting poem, thank you for this nice read.

Realist, you chose a descriptive piece to present to us. Yes, everything dies, it's whether it is expected or surprising that counts. Lovely wording makes this write.
