Your poem is wonderful. I don't think most people stop to consider how dangerous the sport of boxing really is. I could never imagine stepping into a ring with those men of steel.

Thanks Lola for your review. It takes a strong willed person with a strong desire to stay with this sport and make a career
out of it. My desire was not that stong and it didn't take very long to realize that. I decided after awhile that I just wanted a normal job with a normal life. Thanks my friend. Cedar/Bill

A look at the boxer that we wouldn't always be fortunate to have a look at..
First hand...
I guess we have many desires that sometimes don't come to pass...
In this sense, you came to your senses as far as a personal walk in the boxing field...
But, you never lost your love....
A very intersting view..

Thanks Bryan for your review. I don't have any regrets that this
dream did not come true. Boxing is a brutal sport, it takes a strong desire to stay with it, mine was not that strong. Thanks my friend. Cedar/Bill

I used to be such a fan of all sports and boxing was among them. Today, I look at the sport and only think how senseless and brutal it is. It's been around since Roman times but it seems to be losing its appeal and popularity. Muhammed Ali is a hero of mine... for his boxing skills, but more for being an outstanding and courageous human being! An excellent write, my friend... cheers, Jack

Thank you Jack for your wonderful review. Ali is definitely a character, even today with Parkinsons. Take care. Cedar/Bill

As a Parkinsons disease patient myself, I know only too well of Ali and his battle, you are right to avoid a sport that is only there purely to inflict injury

When we're on top, we shine and smile. Then 30 years later, our memories are so powerful of those good times that we make foolish mistakes. It's only human. Blessings, Slush Pile (denny)

Sorry it's a goal you didn't reach, but your health is more important. I don't even think Muhammed can speak anymore, can he? Well written poem and you did what you set out to do for the contest. Good job.

Thank you for your review. No, Ali cannot speak. He barely can stand and shakes really bad. No luck in the contest. Cedar/Bill

You certainly have achieved the requirements of the contest using the colours, 'black and blue'. And it became more alive, knowing that it was based on a real life desire.

Dear Poet,
A color infused description of the pugalistic sport. Black and blue all over doesn't sound very good to me. The color of money in boxing is an ever present presence.
Warm regards,
Winslow
