So now I have read two chapters from your Pet Stories. I must say this chapter too is as interesting and amusing. The details have been expertly penned down. Also now I got a clue about Harley.

Hi again, Leena; I'm glad you are enjoying the pet stories. They are probably my best work, and I'm very proud of them. Thank you for reading and reviewing,

Just ran across this and will want to go back up and check out some of your other works. Working in present tense is difficult to do, but I like the way it puts the reader immediately into the scene. Your use of the omnipresence POV is also difficult to do well, but it seemed fitting for your characters and your story line; and, to me at least, you did it very well. Loren

Hi Loren; thank you so much for this lovely review. I love to write about my pets, and if you went into my portfolio, you saw the abundance of pet stories. (I just had my first sale this week, and I'm still giddy!) The shining six star rating makes me smile, and I'm so glad you dropped by to read and review,

'Cool water is waiting in the kitchen. Harley laps it up with a grateful heart and is happy to see his kibble bowl is full. After a refreshing snack, he returns to his blanket by the kitchen's archway. He peers through the gate's slats. He can smell the kitties somewhere out there. Laying down his head on his paws, he closes his eyes. He'll get them. Maybe next time they play, or even the day after that. It will happen. He is sure of it.'
I love hearing about your kitty friends, amazing, this is superb, so sweet kindest regards Meia x

Hi Meia; this was a fun story to write. I revived it from way back in 2011 when Harley, Simba and Leo occupied all of my time. I think Simba would do well with Howie and Bernie, too. His whopping size gave him the upper hand. Thank you for reading and for the lovely review,

There's high drama in the miniature animal kingdom of your own home. You've captured many emotions and suspense in this tale. Interesting writing. keep going.

Simba (who might have some Siamese in him by your picture, if not both cats) seems to be the wiser of the three, and knows more then his counterpart, Leo, about the way dogs are kept.

I do like that the concept that cats laugh their kitty taunts at Mr. Harley, who I think to be about their size, but not certain, maybe if I read it over one more time I will see that....Oh, yes, his little tail wags. Well, if being a small dog he still must feel dominance over them, though it seems, the felines do understand they have quite the edge over him, especially, through the glass game. And, it must not always be easy with 2 cats and 1 dog in a household, though your Mom's routine to see they are fed and being companions that outweigh what any drawbacks might exist and Mr. Harley's bark might serve as an insurance of protection.

For me, I have one big, lovable, female cat, Amber and she rules the roost, demanding kitty treats every day from me...and well, though I truly would miss her if she was to leave and might put a poem out about her again.

I really enjoyed your story about your Mom and her pets, and too, your notes about what is going on with them now...Caressa_08

Hi Caressa; so glad you enjoyed this story. The boys enjoyed quite a few games that they created together. It used to be a great deal of fun watching them. Simba, Harley and Leo are all gone now. I lost the last in 2012 - but I have my dogs, Howie and Bernie to give me dog hugs.

I enjoyed reading this chapter of animals at play. You managed to describe the interaction between cats and dog well. We have a kitten in the house and it enjoys playing with the dogs. The other day it climbed into an empty wood sack and ran--looking like Casper the Ghost. Needless to say, the dogs took off in terror. Afterwards, kitty leapt through the catflap, just like Superman with a sack trailing behind. The cat flap disintegrated! We now have a new catflap.

Hi CG; it sounds like your house is a blast right now. I would love to bring a kitten in the house with Howie and Bernie (my current dogs,) but I wonder if Bernie is too much of a terrier and would play too hard.
    Thank you for reading,

This was great! Are you going to publish this? Because I have a feeling this will do great in the book market!

I really liked these sentences:
From these darkest spots, Simba can observe the little beast and keep an eye on him. Hidden in the shadows, he watches the sickening exchange of baby talk she has with the little dog. He bows his back with his front paws extended, beseeching the cats to play fair, but they laugh their kitty taunts while growling and snarling. An occasional hiss is thrown in for good measure. They can't let on to anyone they are truly enjoying themselves.
Hilarious to the max!

I have a suggestion that came from someone else. When it is a thought from your character italicize it. This will be great fun! Both kitties are playing with him.

TC.

Hey TC; I've managed to find a buyer for my Pet Stories. I am taking them 20 stories on Friday and they will take the best 10 to be published in their monthly publication for this year, and then starting in January, I will need to give them one a month. I also have a commitment for one story a month to another buyer. I'm maintaining the rights so I can put them all in a book, too.

These cats do not have a clue what it is to live on the street like the cats I've seen. They live and play under the care of a loving mother. To care for a dog and two cat is a joy for the owner. These animals make the mother's life full.

This is fun to read, Patty..and I am guessing fun to write also. Pets can do the craziest things without realizing they are amusing their owners. Harley seems to get the worst of it in this tail...I mean (tale). Good images throughout and thanks for sharing, my friend. Bob

Another down to earth realistic day in the lives of pets. Well written, giving an insight to how animals may think and react to things around them. Good job.

Hi; thank you so much for stopping by to read and review. I appreciate your kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed the story. (Have to share; I'm taking 20 pet stories to a web master on Friday - he is going to take the best 10 for a very nice price!) So excited,

Please explain. What's a web master? How do you find someone to buy your stories? Thanks
reply by the author on 22-May-2017
The 'web master' is a person who runs a website. This particular website is one put together for veterinarian practices.

I just happened on this sale. I shared with my vet that my stories about Bernie and Howie were doing well on the site, and he asked to see a few. He loved them. He bought a few for his newsletter and asked me to send him at least one a month from now on; I'm getting $50 per and retain all the rights. The website is for about 500 vets in the Pacific Northwest area, and they are buying a block of 10 for this next year - they are giving me $1000.
You never know where you will find a sale. Writer's Digest publishes a 'writer's market' book each year with hundreds of publishes - looking for things in all genres.
