Beneath the sea
Miss Cookie,

Poor Hazel. She cannot live without love. Now that she has lost both her loves in one night, drowning in the sea seems the best option for her.

I like the way you picked up on the fish skeleton and the realization that she might be the next one to be eaten. Perhaps her plan wasn't perfect.

Yet, it turned out okay for her, and she was ready to begin her new life.

Three stars were only because of the many edits needed.

hers (her) eyes matched the rising sun

giving her heart and soul to Gods (God's)

Especially her dog diamond (Diamond)

cuddle (cuddled) on her tender feet.

his body weight had change (changed)

She ignored the loud thunder and lighten (lightening)

warning of a (an) awful storm

Tall tree crumble (crumbled) like match sticks, beautiful flower drown (drowned)

She knew their time has (had) come

y to endured (endure) it all in one night

Tear (Tears) stream (streamed) down her face like falling rain
She live (lived) her life in vain.

They no longer put you on (in) a trance

Her beautiful slim smooth neck that resemble (resembled) a swan

Those golden curl's (curls) turned milky grey

She never struggle (struggled) feeling no sand under her feet

Hazel smile (smiled) thinking all the
sea creature will (would) be her new friends and pets.

To hazel it (had) just begun.

Plain down daughterly love - come thru the stages of real living until acceptance which gives her the wisdom to tell this loving story so winsome. Thank you Misscookie for teaching us about the letting go precisely because of love.

A truly touching and heart and soul stirring reflection
on your precious mother. There is love pouring out of
every word and memory, like an endlessly flowing fountain.
This is a most beloved and cherishing tribute and memoir
for your Mother...and bless your for loving her and
sharing those delicate and unforgettable memories...
Love and blessings always....Ronni

Cookie, I thoroughly enjoyed this expression of the love for your mom. She must have been a very special person-the first verse makes that very clear. Nice, the way you gave images of that love, describing the interaction with her when it was time to 'let her go'. Nicely done free verse written in good form. Thank you for sharing. xxCarrie

What a beautiful poem in honor of your mom! The space is missing after the comma in line 3, stanza two. Did you mean "soul" in the last line of stanza 4? Capitalize "Lord" in the third line of stanza 5. I could feel the love.

A visual six your way for this one, misscookie... A beautiful, loving, & touching poem about your Mommy, or Mama, (like I used to call mine), & uplifting that her Faith remained strong until her dying day, continuing her journey to be with the Lord, as her soul needed a rest...Thanks for taking time to write it, & letting us know, on this Mother's Day 2013....And, Happy Mother's Day to you, Dear, misscookie.

Hi misscookie

This is so very sweet. A beautiful memoire about your dear mother. I love the lines where you mention how much you "loved her and her unconditional love" - she was a precious mom. It's wonderful that you sang songs to her in hospital and I love the way she was at least able to tap the beat! (She had music in her heart)

Thanks for sharing this lovely piece for Mother's Day.

God bless you,
Christine
