Loved the use of a sonnet here.
This works will with the flow, imagery, personification if you will, and the schme you set up here.
Vrey well done.

Hi Aussie-I'm going through portfolios this morning and I came across this delightful read. I like the visuals and the very devine message of the birds that give thanks through sounds of praise to our Father...yes, I found this creative and just down right neat....Free

Hullo Aussie ....
I think this deserves the 6th star because of the lovely way you have described the Magpies in their appearance, their approach to their food and then ... their wonderful praise of their Creator through the song which He gave them to sing.
There is nothing to suggest changing and I thank you for sharing it with us.
With love from .... Nanette Mary.

They are just acting out nature's plan. Magpies, like all creatures are programmed and act out their role every day... hugs, Jack xxxxxxxxx

I really enjoyed this poem. Your rhyming couplet especially was moving. The sound of a bird's song is indeed a heavenly song (or heavenward in this case). I've never seen a magpie, but now I think I'd love to encounter one. I don't think, though, they make many trips to Canada.

Lovely job on this sonnet. I was not
familiar with magpie antics but you have
brought that out so clearly in this well-crafted
poem. Wonderful imagery, rhyme and meter.
Well done. Thanks for sharing.

One of my favourite birds! You've done such an excellent job of portraying and describing the magpie... I love how you compare their feathers to clothing and talk about their ferocity of feeding. They indeed seem to be very emotional and protective creatures.
Great work!

What a great sonnet about these maggies that I don't know much about. This is so interesting, and I like how you compared them to certain gentlemen. They must be quite irritating to some, so think I might be lucky not to have them around. Yet at the end you mention the fact that 'each is born with such a throat as thanks his God with every note' so can't be that bad. I enjoyed this very much. . .Sharon

"Quite aggressive", yet "each is born with such a throat as thanks his God with every note". Kind of reminds me of some of the humans I've known. And you've drawn quite a picture of them. Aussie, you're the best!
