Kay, I am truly sorry for this difficult time you are going through and unless we have been there, then it's hard to know what to say. I would offer these words to encourage you:
I am reminded of the little girl who came home one day and told he mom, "My little friend Alice lost her mom this past weekend, and she cried so hard as she told the class."
Her mom asked; "Honey, what did you do?"
She answered, "I just went back to her desk and cried with her."
A friend is an individual is there through the good, the bad and the ugly. This person is available to help in inconvenient times; one who is on call at any moment? notice when needed. When I think of a friend, I think about one who loves you unconditionally; one you can trust, someone you can talk to and one who will be there for you. I hope you find many such friends and that you will be comforted and encouraged through this difficult time in your life.
PRAYER FOR TROUBLED TIMES
Endow me, Lord, with strength to face
the bitter trials of life,
Instill with in my troubled soul
Your peace amidst the strife.
Lord, plant a song within my heart
That I might praise Thee still--
While storms rage on, grant me the faith
to rest within Your Will.
