Intersting statement of your life's positions in verse.

My favorite stanzas:
I forfeit

Half-hearted apologies
Veiled friendships
Silent indifference

I have no answers for

The why of loss
The when of pain
The how of regret
The what if of perhaps

Once again, dear friend, you tap into being; sharing eloquently those things which drive, haunt, define and delight.

I do so hope you're recognized by your academic peers as an accomplished artist: a gifted soul who's approaching her zenith, gifting readers with heart and soul, joy and reverence.

It's an honor, and a delight, to witness your efforts evolve into accomplishment. Bravo, Diane. Bravo!

Be well, Friend, and most of all, may God continue to bless you and yours.

Dante

    Hello dear friend!
    If you only knew...

I so appreciate your kind words on this rainy, miserable day of spring break; they are far too complimentary...but oh, so appreciated! (with apologies for redundancy!!! :>)p

    Be Well, Dante!
And thank you so much again!

Splendid poem, Diane. You manage with succinctness and well chosen words to portray a narrator able to take stock and reveal herself as honest, vulnerable and searching. The flow of the free verse poem was smooth and enhanced the contemplative tone.

I especially admire the I lack and I have no answers to sections.

Terrific job.

I liked it. I wanted to shorten it a bit in places, as it might be a LEETLE redundant, but I loved the premise, and I liked the way you drew it to a neat, well-ordered conclusion. Good stuff here.

Hi Diane,
Oh, how I wish I had six stars for this one. It is a lovely poem and the art is perfect as the lady seems to be contemplating right along with you. It gives us thought to ponder on our lives as well. Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem. God bless and best wishes!

Wow! Wouldn't it be awesome if some of this was included in the census? I love how you take stock....of what you have and of what you still yearn for.

This is a touching poem.

This poem is so lovely and it does deserve a six-star rating. You have hit upon what every comtemplating soul thinks about at various times/all the time. And though there is no rhyme, it flows so very smoothly, none is needed. Blessings, Linda

I thought you did a good job. I liked the way it flowed. I didn't think that the punctuation matters all that much.
A very heartfelt piece.
