What happened here?
President Trump made another stupid decision which was immediately condemned around the world and so he took it back...
Now the old Trump that we all know and love/hate would have come out swinging, invoking fake news and braying that the whole world is wrong and he is the only one in step. Is the back-down a positive sign? Has Trump somehow picked up a grain of common sense allowing him to see that public opinion matters? Or could it be that there is now someone close to him who has been able to show him what a wonky decision this was?
Or maybe someone just pointed out that the original decision was somehow going to hurt him in the hip pocket.
Seriously, is this a positive sign? What will he back down on next? The wall? The pipeline? DACA?

What'd he take back? What've I missed?

I strongly doubt it was trump, himself, that made the decision to hold off...I was not surprised that he wanted to reverse the order, as it was Obama's order that put an end to the collecting of ivory by hunters...Obama's administration was concerned about how many elephants were being killed...trump's son-in- law was an avid hunter taking pictures with the animals he had killed...perhaps someone in his inner circle decided it wasn't the time to deal with it...he couldn't care less about an animal...

I don't think he'll change his mind about anything else, not with all this talk about Moore, and the upcoming election (Dec12)...his aim is to hold on to his supporters at any cost...for now....my serious concern is about the tax bill...its amazing how the republicans believe people are without some kind of common sense...the idea of giving large business people tax brakes with the expectation of them hiring more people, or giving raises is without merit...it was tried before to no avail...it has been proven that there is an excess of money right now, for companies to use for the benefit of the American people...that's not what they want to do...the rich are getting richer, while eventually, if this tax bill become law, the supposed middle class will suffer...(I say supposed because I don't think there is a middle class anymore)..if we were to seriously examine the trump administration, we might find there is a concerted effort to change this system of government...decency, honesty, and all the good stuff, that once made us proud will be gone...I can't believe some of the things I read, from various news stations...i have some friends outside of the US, and I don't know what to say anymore, when they ask..."what's going on in the US"...and yet trump's greatest concern is how well He is liked across the world...and one can see that if you pay attention to all
he says...Although there is little chance for an impeachment soon, there is talk...
( I didn't edit this, so I hope it made some sense)

Haaaaaa, good one, Steve. No, he hasn't changed. Trump wouldn't have backed down from this issue either, except for the fact there is photographic evidence.
Hunting animals is just like golf says Donald Trump as his sons pose with safari trophy kills.

Donald Jnr said: "Hunting isn't about killing. Hunting and fishing makes you fall in love with the natural world."
Apparently sheer and utter stupidity is an inherited trait.

Geeze. Don't Junior's comments reminds me of a defence men use when accused if battering. "I just love her so much, I couldn't help myself."
Stupid does not define junior's defence.

Perhaps we do need more diagnosis of those that feel the rest of us are unaware...I don't need the life of another being to show how great I am...and to take a picture with to show to others...Hunting for food is one thing but hunting for the fun of it ...is sick!
Although many enjoy that sport, I don't...and it's my right to state that...or has freedom of speech been silenced...

The Trump family's logical fallacies are simplistic examples of manipulative propaganda.
Here's a photograph of Trump with the endangered golf ball he shot in Zimbabwe.
Trump has a trophy of the now extinct golf ball he shot in Nambia mounted over his mantelpiece at Mar-A-Lago
Shooting golf balls isn't about golfing, it's about falling in love with the natural world. Always remember, golf balls have feelings too.

Here's the thing:
If I said that I'd love to see Don Jr's rifle jam and blow his useless head off his shoulders - that I'd happily cheer as providence chalked one up to the elephants - then people would be horrified, and say I'm cruel and heartless.
It's a funny old world, isn't it?
