CLUBS

Thread Started January 6 at 5:33PM

I don't want to be a Fanstory shill, BUT, you all should check out the new clubs thing available to us. It's a chance for us to do a lot of the "what if we" stuff we always talk about.

The Fabulous Free Versers club has a challenge going on right now. It's a ten minute write. We're all writing whatever comes to mind within ten minutes, WHATEVER IT IS, and posting it. It's a fun exercise and the RESULTS are already amazing. Come check it out!

No ranking worries or any of that. Safe harbour. :))

I can't do it right now. Can I choose any ten minutes, and you will trust me to be honest about it? I promise I will be.

The clubs sound fun but also seem to be a bit of extra work. If you were going to pick the best club for someone like me who likes a challenge but does not want to have so much homework that it takes away from the fun of writing other things - which would you suggest. Your candid opinion s appreciated.

Hmm ... well, NONE of the clubs involve any kind of commitment or anything. It's all voluntary, you see a challenge that strikes you and you join in or NOT as suites you. The pix this club is fun. They post a couple works of art every month and then your write a poem in ANY form about the artwork. OR, of course, there's always the Fabulous Freeeeee Versers and our clever and exciting challenges. LOL OR, you could even start your own club for whatever your favorite form is. :)) Jeesh, I DO ramble. Hope that helps.

A book by our own Alec Gould.

One man's take on life told thru humorous short stories from his childhood on into his mid-50's; from feeling like an outcast in school to being an adult. His intent: hope. Hope in that you shall see, no matter how rough life can seem -and is- at times, that you may be able to enjoy it. Each story will bring a laugh, a smile, a tear, a lesson.

The 23rd Annual Book Awards said:
"We Really Need To Laugh" shares “memories which will resonate with many readers. Overall a creative presentation of the author’s life given in a rather sing-song poetic story telling style; a pleasant read"
