Good thing this thread is called 'The elephant thing' or some of us would get side-tracked and start debating all manner of other stuff!

Yeah ... "That elephant thing".

I thought it was going to be about something a girlfriend once said to me.

But then they started discussing hunting and square dancing.

I always thought it was undignified to have baby elephants dance.

But shooting one to get their tusks is about the most ignorant thing I've ever heard of.

wow...
Canadian skid row street music
how sweet the treat first thing this morning.
shall we gather round right now and pray
for this poor womans musical pallets desert
yes may it bloom and break the ground of ignorance
and introduce her to the oasis of God

I have to reply to you Ingrid...it seems you know all about me...a patsy...not at all...I have known recon for years, and I will continue to respond to him, whenever I wish...passive-angler, I don't know exactly what you mean by that, but its not important...for you to say that Christianity hasn't been criticized, made fun of, and ridiculed right here, is without merit...or you don't consider what has been said ugly...if that's the case, that doesn't mean that I cannot have my own thoughts on the subject...I respond, not to suit you, but to suit myself, and my thoughts...and so do you...I hardly expect agreement by everyone here, but quite frankly, I will continue to respond as I see fit...even after your remarks...I have to laugh, though ...me a patsy!...that's funny!..you don't know me at all...

Just Some Thoughts!

Mrs. M., I have never had an argument with your right to ANY opinion, and I certainly have never meant you any harm. Further, I have never made disparaging remarks about your faith, or for that matter Christianity. Have I ever taken a shot a religious cults or zealots? Possibly, but none that I can recall. I certainly don;t consider JW part of that group, and no a great deal more about the tenets of your faith than you know about mine. I have never discussed my belief system here, but respect people of faith.

There is no point in my trying to clarify the word 'patsy'. I think I'm a very strong woman, but people can push my buttons depending on my mood or the day. If you have been insulted, then obviously I haven't made myself understood or you chose to read something into my words that was not intended.

I neither have the power or inclination to stifle your opinions nor who you choose to engage in conversation. Be reassured that I have taken your words to heart and feel you have done yourself service by putting me in my place.

God Speed.

Victoria, more than once in this Forum I have seen you write that you will no longer read what Recon posts nor respond to it. yet here you are, rising to the bait. That is your right, of course, but I would have thought that the original decision was the wiser one as he obviously knows how to press your buttons.

have a lovely day.

The day that I really take to heart what you call me, Ingrid, and yes I've read much of what is posted here...is the day I forget who I am...You're not the only one here, and I have come to my conclusions by reading the comments of all that do post here...a strong woman, yes I can easily accept that title, as I know what my life has been like...I have been Blessed in so many ways, not because I'm special but because of my Faith...My comments are mine, alone, and so are yours, just as are the rest of us here.

We each see in the words of others what we want to see, its how we get to know each other...call me what you will, I do know what the word means, and it makes me laugh, its meaningless...I don't take back one word of my comments, not one, and the only entity I am concerned about is the Almighty...as perfection is not part of me, and I know I fail Him, often, that's what's very important to me, He is the only one that sincerely knows who I am...and for that I will forever be thankful to Him...

Just Some Thoughts!
