first I'd like to acknowledge your "at last" admittance that Americas beginning was "theiastcally inclined"...yea at least...and Id say Blessed by Mr. Theo Himself.

my problem is the same as ever was...
your constant declaration that "religion" and Christianity are equal, the same....when they're not. Christianity is a way of life. Religion a show. As Ive said it is based and experienced by choice.....the examples of history you always set forth are men distorting and defiling its Truth. the fundamental "laws" of moral dignity are righteous and prudent for all mankind. and infringe not but advocate human right.
we do ourselves a grave disservice by not reinforcing and acknowledging the Founder of those principles in our schools.
in my American opinion....I'm always Michael

Well, I have to give credit where credit is due, Michael. It takes a brave man to stand up and say he thinks your founding fathers got it all wrong. And as much as I disagree with you on that point, I commend your courage in saying so.

Basically, what it boils down to is your religion is right, and all other religions are wrong. Therefore, whatever applies to all others doesn't apply to yours. Would that be a correct summary?

Oh, and you got my point totally wrong. While I acknowledged that (in lip service at least) many of your founding fathers claimed belief in a higher power, they specifically chose to set aside such belief from the laws they enacted.

quit talking for me...youre not good at it.

Our founding was brilliant...under God.
I never said church and state should not be separate.
I think they should...in a purposed understanding why.
even with "all" that Christian wellspring bubbling inside.
some truth is indisputable CD......like the ten Commandments.
a child can decipher that.

Your founding was not done "under God" - get your facts straight, Michael - that was added later.

Yes, some truth is indisputable. I'll try to remember not to make myself any graven images, nor to covet my neighbor's ass.

Half a century ago, at the height of anti-Communist fervor, Congress added the words ''under God'' to the Pledge of Allegiance. It was a petty attempt to link patriotism with religious piety, to distinguish us from the godless Soviets. But after millions of repetitions over the years, the phrase has become part of the backdrop of American life, just like the words ''In God We Trust'' on our coins and ''God bless America'' uttered by presidents at the end of important speeches.

Your saying you 'won' doesn't make it so, Michael. I know that, by definition, you're arguing from the side of imagination, but please try to at least maintain the illusion of having some regard for fact.

It would be an insult to many to claim that the United States is a "Christian Nation"...to say that would mean no other religious beliefs are allowed...and that's not true...the televisions preachers, and evangelists may make that claim but the establishment of this country by way of the constitution does not include any religious demands...it was the very idea to get away from the dangers of church-state system that gave way to this country...read the history and see what went on during colonial days.

Indeed Christianity may be the largest religious group here, but there are also other religions that are thriving, and allowed to prosper.

Not one man can stand and say what I say is truth, and have it accepted that's what make freedom to serve what we believe is so important.

I choose not to debate you on what Christianity is, and what Religion means..but I will say..Christianity is a Religion...because Christians do believe in specific ideals and basic theology.

But as I've said many times, and so have others, the idea of doing right, being kind, having moral standing, and all the other aspects that appear in Christians also can and does appear in the lives of people that have no idea of what Christianity is all
about...have never seen a Bible or heard a sermon.

Christianity is a way of life, but so are those that serve their god, living a way of life.

I choose not to criticize what others belief, I can only be responsible for myself, but when I read something that's just not true then I have to make my comments.

Read the constitution, from its inception, and show me where it says that any specific religious group are to be held up as "The Only One"..it doesn't.

Perhaps the foundling fathers were "brilliant", that's your right to believe, but the best thing they did...was to allow each of us to serve the God of our choice, and to get away from a government backed by one specific religion.

Also according to Almighty God, the greatest commandments are those spoken about in the 22nd chapter of the book of Matthews.

Just Some Thoughts!

A book by our own Alec Gould.

One man's take on life told thru humorous short stories from his childhood on into his mid-50's; from feeling like an outcast in school to being an adult. His intent: hope. Hope in that you shall see, no matter how rough life can seem -and is- at times, that you may be able to enjoy it. Each story will bring a laugh, a smile, a tear, a lesson.

The 23rd Annual Book Awards said:
"We Really Need To Laugh" shares “memories which will resonate with many readers. Overall a creative presentation of the author’s life given in a rather sing-song poetic story telling style; a pleasant read"
