The donkey from the man next door
eats only from a cleaned-up floor.

A little bit of mud or straw
"eeh-aah', he balks and lifts a paw.

We tried to reason with him once
you think we even got a chance?

This most stuck-up little thing
shook "no" his head to everything.

My mum gave him a slice of bread
with good and healthy greenish spread.

No way he took it from her hand
instead, stooped down, he saw some sand.

Then looked her steady in the eye
to make it clear the reason why

he could not eat, no matter what,
the floor must sparkle, so that's that.

Now me, my mom and neighbor
broom, bucket, water, soap we labor

until the floor is to his liking.
He eats a lot, his health is striking!

Author Notes
So many serious poems and stories lately! This time I made a little funny poem for children for the contest. Enjoy!
