A free verse poem
Laments of a Lost Buffalo
by Pamusart

|
Grazing on a lonely prairie
Hoping that something will
Come along and eat me.
That would be better
Than this feeling of
Infinity that has attached
Itself to my eyes and the
Feeling of eternity that
Consumes my brain.
A fly! Hallelujah!
I am not alone anymore.
Should I eat him?
It is too late.
With one gulp, I have
Destroyed the only
Friend that I had.
Where did my herd go?

Author Notes
This is a lighthearted piece. It also talks of loneliness.
Thank you for reading my poem
