When my thoughts followed you
My heart was close behind
Soon they both joined
Soon they were entwined
I voiced to you my thoughts
I longed for a response
But you kept your distance
For me rejection happens once
I am lucky these feelings
Had not developed more
And my bruised heart was able to escape
