Reflected in those pearls, your thoughts reveal
a wistful sadness of regretted past.
Decisions made in haste you can't conceal
dreams of yours, were never meant to last.
Upon a pedestal you were his queen
those early days, you thought his love was true.
But in the background, kept from you unseen
his cheating ways were known to just a few.
For gambling, wine, and women he did lust
and only then in name, you were his wife.
He showered you with gifts to earn your trust,
behind your back, in secret plunged the knife.
He wooed you to his side with false deceit
made promises, he never meant to keep.
But blinded by his charm masked by conceit,
your innocent naivety was cheap.
Then realization of his sinful way
brought bended knees to you, in stricken grief.
For this new heartache, he would surely pay
how dare he steal your soul, this common thief?
You set the trap, and watched with great delight
while he stumbled into your outcast net.
The proof was yours; he'd never win this fight
revenge is sweet; you'd make him pay his debt.
They say there's nothing like a woman scorned,
just left him with the shirt upon his back.
And in his pearls, you'll always be adorned;
his wealth, ensures there's nothing you will lack.
So heed my story all you wealthy men!
ensure your pearls are given with pure love.
Do not deceive your woman, or you'll find
You may end up, just like that man above.
