Because He left His home in heaven
and was born under a star
Because He healed the lepers
and restored sight to the blind
Because He lived a sinless life
and taught us all to love
Because He stood accused before the Pharisees
led totally blameless before Pilate
Because His flesh was ripped and torn
tortured by His enemies
Because He wore a crown of thorns
and was brutally nailed to a cross
Because He endured an excruciating death
then gloriously rose on the third day
Because Jesus loved us enough
to give His life for our sins
we are forgiven
