December is the month that cries December is the month of death It mourns the time that passes by She would say with every breath. But December came and claimed just one Her love of many years, It passed her by but was not done It left her to her tears. July was hot and promised more but then before she knew December came and drew its score To its promise it was true. She always wondered why it was December had its way She realized it was because Death would not delay. Come with me my dear sweet child It's time for you to see That December can be anytime And it comes for you and me. Recognized Author Notes My mother always said everyone she knew and loved died in December and, for her it was true. She lost Dad in December but death waited for her until July although she thought it was December.
