Please let the Poets Rain on
Oh, dear poet, please let the rain of your words
Wash the salt of my fears, anxieties, and doubts from the
Soil of my mind, and let the moisture of your love, flush tears of joy
To cleanse the dust of my guilt and shame.
Let the power of your writings mold a basin of understanding in my mind
to collect the new tears of gratitude which once were self-pity.
Oh, dear poet, please rain thoughts of light that squeeze the darkness of mistakes
Out of the shadows of my memories, and let that rain bring blossoms of joy
for what I shall learn from the gift of your words, letting the dead leaves of my errors
flush from the roof of my mind and make way for the blessings of yours in return.
