I pick Cornell for a big high five!
Their data and website keep it alive.
Their new birding app is surprisingly good,
the beginner info well understood.
So many good gardeners query and ask,
"What is that bird?" while completing a task.
It's looks so homey, its call is sublime,
when he is nearby, I wonder each time.
So, now dear Merlin, please help me to find,
this bird so fluffy, with long striped behind.
It's brown and bespeckled, little and small,
it's song is subdued, but will always enthrall.
On limbs and on leaves it hops to and fro,
it's friendly and cautious in sun or in snow.
It's often I see him, my little friend,
the cozy and curious Carolina Wren.
