The laughs come easy
From like senses of humor.
Anger doesn't linger.
Day-to-day life hums;
Our companionship comforts
Myself from within.
Our ardor feels like
Soft, comfortable sweat pants
On a winter's day.
Or sweet sweet ice cream,
In the park, or at the pool
Throughout the summer.
And in the time that's between
This love still feels so so keen.

Writing Prompt |
Write a passionate love poem, any style, any length. Try to make us feel the heat and passion of your lovers without being vulgar or blatant. It has to be clean enough so you don't need to put any warnings on your poem. |
Author Notes
I like the haiku sonnet, which of course is a combination of haiku and a sonnet. I wrote four three-line haiku with a concluding couplet. I read about this poetic form in the February issue of Writer's Digest magazine. I wrote this to my husband for Valentine's Day.
