In sands that were dry and so hot
a starving and thirsty wee tot
had hustled all day
to get far away
from lands where old Santa is not.
In Russia they vow there's no God
at solstice the feeling is odd
the dark icy night
just isn't quite right
and kids wonder why as they nod

I hoped my notions are dated...about Christmas in far places, which is what the challenge suggested we write about.
