It
had been a
miserable day alone
with three rotten, little brats screaming,
"I want the toys back so I can play with them all."
My heart was breaking because I knew,
I didn't make them mind
much sooner,
so
it
was silly
to think I'd change them now,
while the battle was raging with them;
so I sat down and put my feet on the hassock
I got some tea with sugar to drink,
it calmed my nerves, keeping
everything
cool.

Author Notes
There was a contest in which you were to use the following words in a poem using any format: silly, rotten, heart, miserable, scream, drink
Some days a mother at home alone with three spoiled kids
can become overwhelmed at what is happening with the
children, so she needs to think of a way to keep herself calm.
The children in the picture are my own three daughters when they were quite young. They were anything but brats, most of the time they played well together and there was little fighting between them.
I chose the spaceship format stacked to tell the story.
This writing was done because I wanted to challenge myself to write a story with the six words.
