Down but not out
Still Kicking by Boogienights

I'm not as young as I used to be,
I think that time has caught up with me.
My long hair once was honey blond locks,
now it gets its color from a box.

Nowadays gravity makes me frown,
What once was up has fallen down.
What used to be flat has now become round.
At least I'm not yet in the ground! : )

I now need glasses when I read,
I'm not sure where this all will lead.
I fight a battle with bones that creak,
I plod along where once I leaped.
Both of my knees can make me weep,
It makes it hard to get to sleep.

Still it's not as bad as I make it sound,
at least I'm not yet in the ground! : )

I can't eat spicy food anymore,
Pizza no longer comes to my door.
It's diet time, now all I do is dream
about double chocolate chip ice cream!

I see young fellows passing by,
I always stop and give them the eye.
I may be old but I like them still,
It doesn't hurt to look so I always will.

There's still a lot of life left in me,
though I look in the mirror and question what I see.
That image there, can it be true?
"It's odd, I don't remember you,"
I say to my reflection there.
With lines on my face, gray in my hair.

Still I really don't let it get me down,
At least I'm not yet in the ground! : )

I have regrets though very few.
With my family and friends my spirit renews.
I may be older but I'm still sound,
at least I'm not yet in the ground! : )
