This work has reached the exceptional level
A Sonnet of dreams lost and hope for renewal

The moon will cross the skies long after love has died

I stand to gaze in awe beyond the bay
The island dreams begin to form in part
Cool water splashes semblances of spray
Between the pages written on my heart

Might one deserve to find true paradise
The fronds of love sway to and fro like palms
Could we believe in passion twice or thrice
That there will lie the truth without my qualms

I cannot find the strength to bear decay
If fantasies refuse enlightenment
For wretched souls who dwell in death's bouquet
What tragic circumstances shall lament

There be no time for fervent crass bewails
The glossy moonbeams show that love prevails

Much appreciation to PIXABAY
for this hauntingly beaytuiful moonlight image
