God's feathered warrior
peeks in my window
his eyes request
bird seed,
his gray-white feathers
move towards heaven
he chases away
a bluejay
allowing a
chickadee to
dine with him
he motions for
the bluejay to
return
sunflower seeds
disappear
the young dove
perches like
a noble soldier
at his post
|
Author Notes
I have quite a few doves that hang around my house and yard. Some of them sit on my window feeder, peering into my kitchen.
