DREAM PRAYER; by HIS GRAYNESS
Oh Dark night
How doest thou hide the light
Where comes thy power in this hour
To slowly and painfully drag the curtain
Of reality dark to close the sun's embrace
To change the echo of bright smiles
From love to lost expectation upon each face
To hush the bright sounds of life in trade for question
What and where might energy come, now to drive introspection?
Is there true good in you somewhere that calls for celebration?
Or is this nature's own digestion that simply gurgles and spits
In sustaining its own perpetuation?
Why do dreams wait for your arrival and spatter stories so bland?
Or so grand that it takes us away from reality to hopes, fears, and ideas
So bizarre that we reach for them to find the meaning of what they are.
Oh Dark night thy power is truly daunting wherein we have no control
No voice, no plan, no vote, no song or no prayer, just floating in the dark
In a journey to nowhere singing songs and living dreams we cannot share
Oh Dark night I pray that you will marry my spirit and love me in your spirit
Let me use this time to create what is good and find no reason to ever fear it
Let my works in dreams call for good and bless me in the mission only God could
Let me rest and empower my mind and soul to do what is right for my heart and soul.
AMEN
